    i don't think it's legal anywhere.
it's too wonderful to be legal.
just go buy liquor and cigarettes instead :P
    JUST KIDDING.
"sell you malboros and car insurance,
I smoke herb and rock a turbin,
meditate on the world and what's occurin'" deltron

go to a big music festival and wear a feather in your hair.
someone will tell you you look familiar.

While you're waiting for the LSD to find you, San Pedro cactus can get you started. Pop the spine nodes off, strip the thin waxy exterior coating to eliminate nausea, and chow down on that cactus. Most of the alkaloids seem to be in the green outer layer, but it doesn't hurt to eat some of the soft pulp underneath as well. Eat it raw; no need to boil it down as so many do. It has a bitter/sour taste. Enjoy!

San Pedro tastes OK to me after the first few bites - bitter/sour, no problem for me anyway. Eating it kinda slowly (over a time span of 30 to 45 minutes) helps to avert bloating from consuming this fairly large amount of cactus. And it's best done on a fairly empty stomach, obviously.

I always remove the thin, waxy outer layer before eating the cactus, and have never experienced any nausea or queasiness during the experience. The waxy layer is tricky to get off; quickest way is to use forceps to grasp it and carefully pull it off.

The pleasant, long-lasting experience which results is definitely worth the prep work and bitter taste; I love cactus nearly as much as LSD. I have some fresh Peruvian Torch cuttings which I am going to work on shortly.

                Happy Trails -

                  amazing.
                  I've tried this,
but always never could even fathom getting it all down.
it would be incredible if there was...no point to cooking it down??

needless to say, Gem, I am quite inspired!

Since most of the alkaloids are concentrated in the relatively thin green outer layer, this green layer (along with some of the underlying whiter flesh) can be trimmed off and eaten as "sticks", and the rest of the cactus material discarded. This may be somewhat wasteful, but it eliminates hassling with fiber, boiling, etc. - and the effects are still incredible. I hear that adding lemon juice and salt to the raw cactus flesh improves the taste, but haven't tried it yet.

How much do you usually chow down?

A cutting about 2.5 feet in length - only the outer green layer, with some of the light pulp which is just beneath the green. The rest of the cutting is discarded.

That didn't come out right. Prep a 2.5 foot cutting, then trim off the outer green layer, along with ~.5" of the lighter-colored flesh below the green. Eat the green stuff which was trimmed off. Discard the pulp, snot, etc. which remains. Fasten your seat belt.

Thats wild bro....raw, huh. I know a kid when I lived in Alb. NM who cut off all the greens, chopped them up boiled for a few hours, then let the nasty mess sit in the sun and completely dry out, which took days. Then he threw it into a coffee grinder, turned it into a powder and packed it all up into gel caps. We all tried it and it was a pretty nice experience.....more like 2CB then anything else. Mild visuals with lots of empathy and love towards everything.
