LSD rapidly deteriorates when removed from an inert atmosphere (crystal stored in nitrogen filled bottles) and layed on paper. LSD will absorb moisture from the air and form lumi-LSD which is hallucinogenically inactive. Chlorine or chloramine in tap water destroys the fragile molecule immediately on contact.
